Have you suffered silently in church? If so, what motivated you to hide your pain from others?ģ. In reality, smiling on the outside while suffering on the inside never benefits His gospel it only corrodes my soul. I didn’t want to be the Christian having marital problems, so I pretended my life was great. Stepping into church and seeing how other people were seemingly so perfect only confirmed my conviction. I thought that as a Christian I had to be perfect so that I wouldn’t misrepresent God’s gospel to others. In what ways do your unmet expectations affect your attitude toward your husband? Toward God?Ģ. I believed he should live up to the standard I held of him in my mind, and when he failed me in any area, discontentment over my whole marriage tainted my attitude. Unmet expectations became a catalyst for the bitterness growing in my heart toward my husband. If my husband is suffering in any way, even if he has an issue that is affecting him, yet he remains unaware, would You please miraculously heal him completely.1. If he is stubborn, refusing to make healthy choices for his body, please convict his heart on the matter and help him to change. Help him to eat right, exercise, and get adequate rest. I realize that diet and preventative care both play great big roles in maintaining his health, so I beg You to motivate my husband to pursue a healthy lifestyle.

My desire is for him to live a happy life, free of sickness or injury. I do not want to see my husband suffer with illness or pain, but if he does, I hope he can find security in You still. It is so vital that he has great health so that he can take care of his family with joy and longevity. One specific area of his life I wanted to lift up to You today is my husband’s health. He endured harsh treatment that led to death on the cross, providing people redemption from sin and the only way to be reconciled to God. Jesus Christ was sacrificed for you and for all mankind. Still, he walked on, headed towards the place where he would breathe his last. This man knew that he would experience death, but only after the shock of agony pierced his flesh. Blood dripped from raw wounds, yet he carried on.
Anguish gripped his heart, yet he walked. Heavy, splintering wood pressed against his back, joining in with gravity to pull this man to the dusty ground. Despite the excruciating affliction he continued to walk, knowing that his destination would led him to even more suffering.
